With the increase in international visitors to Japan, strong customer service skills in English are becoming more important than ever. In this department, students learn customer service in English and international etiquette while also gaining essential skills for sales, including textile studies, color theory, trade administration, and computer skills. We support students aiming for careers in apparel sales and other customer-facing professions.

02. Thorough support through small-class instruction

Classes are conducted in a small-group setting with a strong emphasis on communication. Students learn the spirit of “omotenashi,” or Japanese hospitality, through English, with a particular focus on skills useful in customer service and the tourism industry. In addition to Japanese instructors, students can also learn native pronunciation and listening skills from international instructors.

Acquire English communication skills for everyday life, customer service, and business situations, along with foundational knowledge of fashion.
First Year
TOEFL iBT: Approximately 50–70
Aim for a TOEIC score of 400 or higher
Through marketing and store development planning simulations, students learn practical English for customer service, product transactions, and handling problems.
Second Year
TOEFL iBT: Approximately 70–90
Aim for a TOEIC score of 600 or higher

Training designed to rebuild junior high school English fundamentals and help students speak English instantly.
Students learn to speak simple English quickly by using basic sentence patterns.
Through repeated practice in reading aloud, listening, repeating, and shadowing, students develop the ability to speak smoothly and rhythmically.
Students learn polite and refined English expressions used in international settings through everyday conversation. They also study Japanese and overseas manners and customs to apply them in practical situations.
