1938 | The first principal, Masako Naito, established the Dressmaking Research Institute in Shibuya, Tokyo. |

1943 | Iwakuni Dressmakers Girls’ School and Iwakuni Beauty School were accredited and established. |
1947 | Upon returning to Tokyo, Mejiro Dressmakers Girls’ School was established. |
1956 | The structure of the organization was changed to an incorporated school. |
1963 | The reporters from Paris Vogue visited the school. |
1971 | Reiko Kojima assumed the positions of board chairperson and principal. |
1974 | Mejiro Tougen (ceramic) Club was established. Noba Kindergarten was accredited and established in Yokohama. |
1978 | The structure of the organization was changed from a miscellaneous school to a vocational school. The school name was changed to Mejiro Design Vocational School. |
1980 | A new school building was designed by architect Shinichi Okada and built in the current location. Namiki Kindergarten was accredited and established in Yokohama. |
1986 | Opened a studio in Manhattan, New York City. |
1988 | Designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture Sports, Science and Tecnology as the first institution for the advancement and development of vocational schools for occupational education.Started a summer training trip to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT),New York. |
1989 | In the celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Japan Foundation and the Mejiro Design Scholarship Fund were established. |
1991 | The CG/CAD system was introduced, starting computer education. |
1994 | Sponsored research for the advancement and development of vocational schools for occupational education, designated by the MESSC. (Ended in 1997)The board chairperson, Reiko Kojima, received a commendation from the Ministry of Education, Culture Sports, Science and Tecnology (Former Ministry of Education). |
1996 | Goods Planner (Fashion Accessories) Course was newly established. |
1997 | Celebrated the 60th anniversary. |
1998 | New building was completed in front of Mejiro Station. |
1999 | The Fashion Business Specialist Course was newly established. |
2001 | CG/CAD System Course was newly established. |
2002 | The industry-academia-government collaboration project for elementary school students Fashion Kids School was held (sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry).An active learning program was held for junior high school students (organized by the City of Shinjuku School Board). |
2005 | Fashion Model Course was newly established.“The Program for the Enlightenment and Promotion of Professional Awareness Using Vocational Schools” and the “Fashion Kids School for Elementary School Students” were held by the MEXT. |
2006 | Entrusted by the MEXT, “The Program for the Enlightenment and Promotion of Professional Awareness Using Vocational Schools” and “Fashion Creation and Business Experience for Junior High School Students” were held. |
2007 | The Fashion Advisor Course was newly established. |
2009 | The school name was changed to Mejiro Fashion & Art College.Akihiko Kojima assumed the position of principal. |
2013 | Celebrated the 75th anniversary. |
2018 | Founded 80 years ago, Mejiro Fashion & Art College has established an advanced fashion design department for the first time. |
2020 | The Third Year Fashion Accessory Course was newly established. |
