Class period

  • First period: 9:20 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.,
  • Second period: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Third period: 1:20 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.,
  • Fourth period: 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*Classes are held for five days from Monday through Friday.
Class hours differ by the day of week and courses.

Application documents

  1. Application form
  2. Graduation certificate or a copy of a diploma issued by the applicant’s last school in the home country.

    The school from which a student has graduated, except for a Japanese language school.
    Only a document in Japanese or English is accepted. In the case where a copy was submitted, the original shall be presented at the time of taking an exam.

  3. Applicants shall submit one of the following documents from 1 through 3:
    1. Certificate of the completion (prospective) of an accredited Japanese language school
    2. Certificate of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N2) and above
    3. Certificate of the Examination for Japanese University Admission (200 points or more in “Japanese as a Foreign Language”)

    A copy shall be accepted for the documents 2 and 3. In that case, the original shall be presented at the time of taking an exam.

  4. Transcript issued by an accredited Japanese language school.
  5. Certificate of attendance issued by an accredited Japanese language school
  6. Medical exam report (in a form specified by MFAC)
  7. Three photos (3.5 H x 2.5 cm W. One of the photos shall be pasted on the application form.)
  8. A copy of passport (A page with photo indicating nationality, name and the date of birth. The original passport shall be presented at the time of taking an exam.)
  9. Certificate of residence (A residence card shall be presented at the time of taking an exam.)
  10. Application fee: JPY20,000

    Application fee shall be exempt if a student submits a card for the participation in the one-day student day, which was issued for the participants of MFAC’s one-day student day.

Exams
Japanese-language test
The level is equivalent to the level 1 or 2 of the Japanese Proficiency Exam

Within 800 characters on manuscript paper

Admission by recommendation program

Students who graduated or is expected to graduate from a Japanese language school accredited by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education and those of exceptional ability and character with excellent attendance, as well as those who have a strong desire to study at MFAC with clear goals and intentions for the future and great motivation to learn and are be of sound body and mind may be qualified for the admission by recommendation program. Those who are qualified shall receive JPY100,000 for the entrance fee from the school foundation. Students who wish to use this program are required to submit a recommendation letter from the principal of their Japanese language school.

Students’ commuter and student discount

MF&AC is a designated school of student discount and discounted students’ commuter for JR Railway.
Additionally, students of MF&AC are eligible for students’ commuter on private railways, subways and busses.

We ask students to pay for school fees in one payment in principle.
However, installment payment is also accepted.

Once the documents are submitted to MF&AC and the screening fee is paid, we cannot return/make a refund due to the school policy. In addition, if a person has declined the entrance to MF&AC before March 31, MFAC will refund the payment of school fees, except for the entrance fee.

The school fees for next academic year are subject to change due to social and economic conditions.

There are about JPY180,000 to JPY200,000 of educational material fees (study materials, study tools, practical training fees, visit cost, etc.) and JPY100,000 of education enhancement fees (installment payment accepted).
The qualification exam fees, heating/AC fees, fashion show costs, graduation costs, etc. shall be paid separately.
In addition, each student must purchase their own fabrics, magazines, nail and makeup items, etc., used for production work outside of the classroom.
Students who wish to purchase a sewing machine can purchase it at a discounted price after entering MF&AC.
